Strawberry Smoothie

The classic smoothie, this can be made with fruits of your choice. The bananas give it the smooth, creamy texture and berries or tropical fruits, like mango or kiwi, will give it color and distinctive flavor.

1 cup pineapple juice
2 frozen bananas
8 large frozen strawberries, slightly thawed

  1. Slice frozen bananas into ½-inch slices and place them in a blender.
  2. Add pineapple juice and strawberries and blend all ingredients into a thick shake.
  3. Garnish each serving with granola if desired.

Makes 4 servings.

Cook's Tip: To freeze bananas, peel ripe bananas and place in a plastic bag and freeze. I like to slice them before freezing them and skip that step when making frozen treats.
